Otello Ceci began in 1938 in the foggy lowlands of Parma, founded by Otello Ceci, a beloved trattoria owner who poured his own Lambrusco alongside the region’s great local staples, including Parmigiano-Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma. The wine quickly became the centerpiece, drawing the community into harvest and transforming a family craft into a source of local pride. Otello ultimately left the kitchen behind to devote himself fully to the cellar.
Today, the winery is led by Otello’s grandchildren, continuing the house’s deep connection to place and tradition. Alessandro Ceci, a graduate of the G.B. Cerletti School of Oenology, serves as both Winemaker and Director of Marketing, pairing technical rigor with a modern, design-minded approach. The winery’s packaging innovation has been recognized academically, including as a case study by Bocconi University, reflecting a brand that blends heritage with contemporary vision.
