Raventós-Codorníu
Codorníu is one of the great historic names in sparkling wine, with more than 450 years of family winemaking history. In 1872, Josep Raventós is credited with producing the first bottle of Cava by applying the traditional method to classic Penedès grapes including Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada, establishing a blueprint that would define the category.
Based in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Codorníu’s cellars are an architectural icon of Catalan modernism, designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument in 1976. The house today pairs that legacy with a modern focus on sustainability and organic viticulture, maintaining a classic, gastronomic style built on freshness, structure and long-aged complexity.
