Dry Creek Vineyard
Dry Creek Vineyard is a cornerstone of Sonoma County and the Dry Creek Valley’s flagship family winery, founded in 1972 by David Stare. It was the first new winery built in Dry Creek Valley after Prohibition, and Stare helped reintroduce the region to the modern wine world with early, conviction-led plantings of Sauvignon Blanc, including the valley’s first plantings of the variety and the introduction of Sonoma County Fumé Blanc.
Today, the winery remains firmly family-led, championed by second-generation president Kim Stare Wallace and her husband, Don Wallace. The through-line is classic Sonoma: varietal clarity, appellation focus, and a long-standing commitment to sustainable farming and responsible stewardship.
