Bodega Montecillo is one of Rioja’s historic names, founded in 1870 in Fuenmayor and recognized as the town’s oldest winery. With more than 150 years of continuous production, Montecillo’s identity is classic Rioja: Tempranillo-led wines shaped by careful aging, balance, and a composed, traditional profile that remains timeless rather than trendy.

Today, Montecillo is owned by the Osborne family, the same Spanish heritage group behind Osborne Sherry and Cinco Jotas Jamón Ibérico, bringing deep generational continuity in food and drink craftsmanship. Under that stewardship, Montecillo remains a familiar presence on Spanish taverna wine lists, especially as a dependable by-the-glass Rioja that delivers heritage, structure, and unmistakable regional character.
