Looking Forward APRIL 2026

Spring is fully upon us in the wine country, with vineyards full of sprouting shoots and the beginnings of what looks to be a beautiful growing season. 

 

In the On-Premise, despite what negativity may be proliferating in the news media, we also see robustness. We recently attended a seminar on industry data (more on that later) which indicated that while new openings are happening at a slower pace this year and store closures are still a reality, there are more On-Premise national account locations active now than at any time in history, even pre-pandemic. 

 

We have had a busy first quarter of RFPs with dozens of decisions pending on our many pitches to account decision makers and we have a full calendar ahead of us with more opportunities on the horizon. 

 

Mark & Brandon recently attended the Hospitality Executive Exchange East conference in Orlando, FL and conducted a series of 24 one-on-one meetings, with additional networking opportunities with the 60 or so buyers and marketing personnel in attendance at the event. A heartfelt thank you to the Trellis partners who sponsored and attended the event with us! These Partners got ground-level access and interaction with the buyers in attendance and over the course of our follow-ups in the next couple of weeks we anticipate making hay from the great responses we received to their offerings. 


Also very important: Brandon won the Rock Anthems costume contest with his Ziggy Stardust look.


 

The next HEE conference will be in the fall somewhere in the Western US. Please consider joining us as a sponsor of that conference to break bread and make conversation with the outstanding list of decision makers who will come out for the next one! 

 

One exciting piece of news relates to that data presentation we sat in on two weeks ago at HEE. Datassential, the premier supplier of industry and market tends to the On-Premise has, for the first time, invited Trellis to access their suite of On-Premise data software for use in our presentations.

 

The one commonality we see in all the RFPs coming to our desks is the request—in some cases the demand—for On-Premise data to back our suggestions and submissions. These are the types of market trends, flavor profile trends, varietal and category insights, and other facts & figures that the big, multinational conglomerates who we compete with use to make their case for adoption of their products among our customers. 

 

We earnestly believe that this is the missing piece in a number of our presentations and we are seeking support from our supplier Partners to help us secure this valuable data to make our presentations pop and dramatically increase the chances of adoption. We can’t do it without you, and we humbly request your attention to this opportunity.

This presentation really busts some of the prevailing myths out there and has given us an interesting insight into targeting future presentations towards the demographic and age groups that are driving growth and sustainability among our customers.

We have spoken to a handful of our partners about supporting this data for their wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic offerings to bolster our efforts in pitching. We urge you to take a look and hope very much that a critical mass of our partners will come together and support this software so we can have a greater edge in presenting as we move into the rest of 2026 and upcoming presentations. We believe that this software poses a greater sales ROI than any attendance of a conference or tradeshow, and are in hopes that enough of our partners can come together to support it (at a dramatically reduced cost per company) so that we can grow together and truly meet our big competitors on the field with all the ammunition necessary to win.
